The wonderful rock and roll world where our little hero inspires his dad to relive his glory days. The story, by David Allen, begins where Boom Boom is a born rocker much to his dad's chagrin. As Boom Boom visits his barnyard friends, he discovers they are retired rockers willing to help him pull his dad out of his funk. Filled with lots of 'easter eggs' this touching story will keep you smiling throughout...and some of you may recognize the rockers who live there. David and I brainstormed for weeks to come up with characters he envisioned. It was the most enjoyable project I've illustrated for in as many years.
There was talk about making this little guy into a 'toon, so I made a walk sequence to get down his attitude in his strut:
Rotoscoping was my introduction to the world of animation. The clip below was from the movie The Matrix. This short scene is where Morpheus challenges Neo to "Hit me".

This is a series of poses with a live model. It was my job to make him move across the screen.

Maya was my introduction to the world of 3D Animation, my fascination! The following shorts were exercises using Mel Scripting in Maya:

Character design stemmed from a story based in the 1800's of animal pirates. The character had to be assigned a duty on the ship, Desi was Master-at-Arms. Though Desi was a fierce and brave pirate in his own mind, he served as comedy relief.
Doodling one day, I was inspired by the next door neighbor's daughter and her sweetness...and Monique was born.
The best place to get diversity in unique body types is any tourist trap. These were the most fun to sketch while enjoying the weather at the Cotton Exchange in Savannah, Georgia.
From the Harry Potter book series, I was intriqued with this mysterious creature and believed this is what a Thestral would look like before the movie came out. I still like my version better than the movie.
